Reflections
I’m playing in an additional tennis league this year. This one is in the city, whereas, my other league in the ‘burbs. I’ve been to two practices with my new team. I’m definitely the only whitey on the team. All the guys are really nice, except for this one guy who gives me the vibe that he just hates white people. Plus he kind of looks like a crack head, so he freaks me out a little. I’ve played four sets of doubles with the team, with two different partners and won 3 out of 4. The three I won, I won easily and the one I lost I lost 7-5. So I suspect I impressed my new urban teammates and I hope to get a lot of playing time.
One of the things that cracked me up was that when someone hits a good shot, they yell “Holla”, which is apparently short for “Holla at your boy when you see him walking in the ‘hood.” Heh.

On Tuesday I had drinks with CallGirl.
To recap: it’s been over a year since I suggested that she “dump the zero and get with the hero.” Right after that, things were cool, we still saw each other frequently, all was good. Then gradually we started seeing each other less and less, she got engaged, and now maybe we see each other every other month.
Drinks were fun. We caught up, talked about some of our insane friends and bullshitted. After two or three drinks, she got really touchy. Not grabbing my junk or anything but I’m sure her douchebag of a fiancée would have been bitter. On the walk to the metro, we ended up having a discussion about how nice her breasts are and how she doesn’t realize how hot she is. Then she hugged me four times before I put her in a cab. Just like old times.
Then I saw her Thursday. She and TheLamp stopped by happy hour. We exchanged a very awkward (on her part) hug, which I attribute to the fiancée being there. They got there just as I was leaving, so I only stuck around for 20 minutes or so. I got an email from her today wondering why I bailed early. I think she is a little self involved.
