I know. I suck at posting. I have some good stories for Lobster’s wedding in Mexico but haven’t had time to write them up.
Two news items prompted me to find time to write today.

Thank God. I’m so pleased that the hippies didn’t win this battle. If you have kids, please vaccinate them. Although a quote from the attorney for the plaintiff is distressing:
"There was certainly no scientific proof that vaccines caused autism, but that's not the standard; the standard is likelihood," said Kevin Conway of Boston, who represented the Cedillos. "We thought our evidence was solid."
OK, first of all, there is no such thing as scientific proof. I assume he is trying to say “I don’t believe the statistics.” What’s really horrifying is that he thinks that somehow the legal definition of “likelihood” somehow trumps statistics. Er, dumbass, statistics directly addresses likelihood. Non-scientists frustrate me.

OK, here’s a rule in the kingdom of DBB*. If you have one or more children and require government assistance to take care of them for more than a year, for any reason, you are not allowed to have more children until you are free from government subsidies for at least 5 years. I understand that occasionally things go south (hence the 1 year grace period) but you need to get your shit together. Oh, and stop having kids.

I can maybe understand spending this much money on in vitro fertilization if a) you were independently wealthy and c) you had no children, but this dumb cunt has SIX fucking children already. And how they fuck did she continue to get federal assistance for her kids if she had enough excess income to squirrel away $100K. I have zero kids and do you have any idea how long it would take me to save $100K??

Better make sure the first phrase you teach them is “Would you like fries with that?” because that’s the only job they be qualified for since there is zero chance they will be able to afford college.
On a lighter note, I was having lunch with a co-worker this week. She had just gotten back from a two week work trip. When her boyfriend picked her up from the airport, he said “We need to hurry up and get home.” She took this to mean “We need to hurry up and get home to make up for all the fucking we have missed out on while you were out of town.” He meant “We need to hurry up and get home so I can watch a basketball game.”
